ABC FLORIDA GULF COAST CHAPTER ENDORSES KAREN BENDORF FOR ELECTION TO THE HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD, DISTRICT 7

Today, Karen Bendorf announced she has received the endorsement of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Florida Gulf Coast Chapter for election to the Hillsborough County School Board, District 7.

Her expertise in fiscal matters and budgeting promises a substantial contribution to the school board's effective governance."

As president and CEO of ABC Florida Gulf Coast Chapter, Cona directs one of Florida's most extensive construction apprenticeship training programs. He is passionate about improving Florida's skilled labor workforce while cultivating the lives of hardworking, skilled workers. Cona is also the executive director of the Build Tampa Bay Foundation and serves on the advisory board for Visit Tampa Bay.

"I'm grateful for the widespread support from the building and construction industry as we collaborate to instill robust academic and social skills in our students for their future workforce endeavors," expressed Bendorf. “My determination lies in guiding students towards lifelong success, emphasizing that their chosen path—whether it be higher education or trade schools—will be nurtured with equal dedication."

As the wife of a community pastor, mother of six sons, and a public school teacher in Hillsborough County for the past 13 years, Karen is passionate about providing children with a high-quality education and days spent in a safe and wholesome school environment. She has seen firsthand both the successes and challenges facing our local schools. Her leadership will help guide Hillsborough County schools to practical solutions and accountability in classrooms, schools, and communities.
